Landlord Parents

Getting a degree used to be a stepping stone to limitless career opportunities. Now it's more of a hiatus from living under your parents' roof. Stubbornly high unemployment-nearly 15 percent for those ages 20-24-has made finding a job nearly impossible. And whithouta job, there's nowhere for 20-somethings to go but back to their old bedrooms. It's the boomerang effect on steroids.

Even though living whit parents comes with rules and restrictions, it's a small price to pay for the comfort and covenience of home.

Got a cell phone?

You're probably paying too much
In Illinois, mobile phone users are paying hundreds of extra dollars every year for unused minutes and unnecessary services. The CUB studied 4,400 cell bills entered into its online Cellphone Saver between AUgust 2009 and july 2010 and determined that those consumers are overpaying. In last year, the CUB conducted analyzing 6,985 bills. The lost savings added up to an average of $331 a year. Those probelm is paying for extra services that may not be a good value, such as insurance, directory assistance and roadside assistance. The CUB said consumers unwittingly opt into programs that tack monthly recurring charges onto their bills, often for downloads such as ringtones and wallpapers.

In my opinion, having a cell phones is not a bad idea but every month pays too much because sent over limits texting downloading ringtones etc. Each year, every member family have to pay more than they thought.

Newsroom hot topic: New Starbucks rules and longer lines

Title:New Starbucks rules and longer lines.
OCT 13,2010.
BY Scott Kleinberg.

Here's the gist: The Journal reports that customers have complained that Starbucks has turned into more of an assembly line than a coffeehouse and therefore baristas are being told to focus on no more than two drinks at a time.

So in the story, baristas are worried about longer lines because of the change. And apparently rightfully so, since tests have been confirmed the increased wait time. That's in Minnesota.

Back here in Chicago, in our newsroom, some of us point out that we're fine with spending less time being oooohed and ahhhhed while the drink is being made if we're in and out quickly with a delicious experience.

In my opinion : I like Starbucks coffee, but If I wait a long time to got this cuo of coffee, I feel very bad!you know, I would spent money and more times to enjoy this coffe, that's very worthwhile!

Confessions of a Facebook hater (The 7th Reading Blog)

Title: Confessions of a Facebook hater
By Tracy Swartz on 09.29.10

This week I read an article which is talking about Facebook. Facebook is to use broadly today, a portion of Facebook users thought that they were grew weary of their family "spying" on them through their profile, and the Facebook's intrusive advertising was caused complications. And they thought that Facebook leaked their information.

I do not have Facebook up now, but I have a Chinese blog which named Renren just like Facebook in US. A lot of Chinese have Renren, and they like to share some interests here. Sometimes, a portion of Renren users have the same situations like the Facebook users`.

I my opinion, using Facebook is an interest thing. Although it has some bad influences, it makes our lives colorful too.

The first of 33 trapped miners was pulled to safety in a capsule barely . Rescuers, relatives, and friends were
cheered as 31 year old father of two Florencio Avalos began his claustrophobic ascent of 2,050 feet through thick
Rock. The men have spent 68 days in the hot, humid bowels of the gold and copper mine in Chile's northern Atacama desert.
Everybody was nervous wives, children, parents and friends waited on an arid, rocky hillside above San Jose mine. The rescue. teams started an evacuation expiated to take up to 48 hours. Each man's journey to safety should take 12 to 15 minutes. The
Capsule travels at about 3 feet per second, or a casual walking pace, and can speed to 10 feet per second if the miner being carried gets into trouble. The miners were being given dark glasses to avoid damaging their eyesight after spending so long in lit tunnel. They will be under observation at the hospital for two days. Everybody celebrates the rescued of the miners.

The Social media is exploding in the wine business and a new survey illustrates just how important it has become, especially
In this tough economic climate. Sixty four percent were using Twitter, compared with just 21 percent in 2009 ,and 52 percent had a
Company blog, a rise from 18 percent a year ago. More than 80 percent of 109 grapes growers, distributors, and other wine experts. in the California who were questioned in a survey by the Wine Industry Financial Symposium Group and University of California. Like Davis Graduate school of Management were using Facebook in their business, up from 46 percent in 2009. Now the social media is so important and easy to used that a lot of people sold things, represent their business from the social media and more things now we can do now.

CTA investigating cause of bus crash

CTA officials said Sunday they were continuing to investigate a bus crash Saturday evening that sent 37 people to area hospitals. Officials were in the process of investigating the cause of the accident, CTA spokeswoman Catherine Hosinski said Sunday. More than 20 ambulances were sent to the scene of the accident. The No. 6 Jackson Park Express articulated bus was described as being full at the time of the crash. The CTA has placed fourth, fifth or sixth in federal collision-rate rankings since 2002 compared with other large bus transit agencies.

In my opinion maybe the accident happened because the driver runs faster.

Justice Elena Kagan unveils her Supreme Court style in debut argument

Justice Elena Kagan threw herself into her new job Monday with an aggressive performance during the Supreme Court's inaugural oral argument of the 2010 term. The first one hour of her judicial debut, Kagan asked infinitely more questions than Justice Clarence Thomas did during all of last year. Kagan asked 10 question during the oral argument. That was more than most of her colleagues and far more that Thomas. Kagan didn't crack any jokes Monday, she sounded relaxed and threw out a combination of hypothetical questions and fact-based queries. Kagan hasn't yet written any opinions, though she has annouced that she will recuse herself from a number of cases beacause of her prior work as the Obama administration's solocitor general. At this week, Kagan recused herself from four of them.

European Terror Plot Disrupted

REDEYE

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 30, 2010

BERLIN/LONDAN Security sources said Wednesday, a militant polt to stage coordinated attacks in Europe has been disrupted in its early stages by drone strikes in Pakistan, but it is not clear if the threat has been completely eliminated. It knew of information attacks pointing to possible al-Qaida in Europe and the U.S.A., and intelligence sources said security agencies had disrupted plans by Pakistan-based militants for simultaneous strikes in London, as well as in major cities in France and Germany, German said. The sources said, the conspiracy involving al-Qaida and allied militants was in the early stages and would have involved groups of assailants taking and killing hostage, possibly along the lines of the 2008 raid in Mumbai in which 166 people died. Word of the plot had probably originated from the interrogation of a German-Afhgan terror suspect in afghanistan, Ahmed Sidiqi, is a German of afghan descent, one security official in German said.
In my opinion, Ahmed Sidiqi was born in Pakistan he is most likely a German citizen. He is a member of al-Qaida group.

crosswalk confusion

Title crosswalk confusion ,

A new illionis law requires that the cars come to a stop not just yield for pedestrians in all
crosswalks.
The new law is improve a little amount of safety and reducing crashes the officer say.and the news
laws is when ever seem someone walking on the cross walk the cars must be stop even is don’t have a
stop sign or traffic signal,if the driver failing to stop the fine will 50to 500 doller.
I don’t thing changing to a new law would be a good way cause people don’t see the traffic signal
and just go that even more crashes happen.if some body just jump out and we can’t fast enough to stop
the law is still not lawful

Extreme indoors--tackling Chicago's winter sports (The 6th Reading Blog)

Title: Extreme indoors--tackling Chicago's winter sportsBy Geoff George on 10.08.10

I read this article today. The Chicago Marathon is today, and it's the last large-scale outdoor event before most people retreat inside for another bitter winter.

For those who can't dribble a basketball to save their lives, local indoor athletics offers sports for all skill levels, from soccer to Frisbee. Indoor sports often can be a lot safer for beginners. At Chicago Indoor Sports, there's a strict rule against slide tackling during soccer games.

In my mind, Winter sports are very important for us. If the weather is not fit us for doing physical training outside. Indoor sports will do good to our health.Just like Indoor soccer, Tennis, Rock climbing, Ultimate Frisbee, Volleyball, and Pingpong. If you wants more, there are so many new games and coming-soon indoor sports for your choice.
