Chicago hipsters? Whatever

Red Eye

Title:Chicago hipsters? Whatever

By: Georgia Garvey

For instance, it once was hipster cool and blisteringly ironic to wear trucker hats. Now, not so much. And someone who has hipster music tastes and loves LCD Soundsystem could dress like a total square. Or maybe hipster music isn't actually even cool, depending on whom you ask.

In my opinion: uhhhhh!! Hipsters.......the perfect mix of emo, fake-grunge, fake-hippies. Their dress is hard to understand for me!What is the mainstream? For these people.

No shoes? No problem for barefoot runners

Ken Bob Saxton started the running barefoot in 1997. People might think that they are crazy, but barefoot runners
even those who pursue punishing marathons sans shoes, say that freeing your feet from the confines of sneaker is
just as God and natural intended. Elizabeth McCullough of Lexington who started running barefoot earlier this year,
Went to Saxton's website for direction and soon embraced the idea. Just running up the street without any shoes on felt
wrong and exciting, McCullough said that. Barefoot running has been around a long time. An Olympic marathoner,
Abebe Bikila of Ethiopia, won the gold without shoes in 1960. Barefoot South Africa runner Zola Budd famously knocked
American Mary Decker out of medal contention in 1984.Dr. W Ben Kibler, said that less material you put between the sole of the ground, the more rapid the activation of the muscles. For many reasons, barefoot running is a pretty good idea because
a lot of people won. Saxton said that people have been lulled into thinking that their feet won't work correctly. Most people
have feet that don't work, and 90 percent of people need some sort of correction in the foot, where it is probably the opposite of that.

Lindsay Lohan

The failure to pass a drug test for one of the mandatory requisites for lindsay lohan probation period brought her back to jail for thirty days. Lindsay Lohan admitted to have done cocaine during her probation and violating rules of her ¨freedom.¨ Her scheduled date to be out of jail is on october, 22, 2010.

In my opinion i believe that her actions of taking in drugs during her probation was a ridiculos idea. Knowing the kind of situation she was in she should have thought twice before drugging herself. I agree for her to go to jail in order for her to pay for the consequences of her actions.

Red Line stretch, Residents still hopeful CTA will extend service to far South Side

Even in time of belt-tightening and dreams deferred, a long-sought CTA project is in the works, offering the promise of improved transportation and economic rebirth for poorly served Chicago communities. In the late 1960s, when the Red Line was extended south along the middle of the Dan Ryan Express way to 95th Street, the plan never was to stop there. Just as the north branch of the Red Line touches Evanston at Howard Street, the goal was to build out the CTA's longest route to Chicago's southern border. But for more than four decades, 95th Street has been as far as this train goes, leaving the Far South Side with no rail connections to the rest of the city and adding to the hardships of already disadvantaged neighbourhoods. It has been a constant frustration for South Seders, especially irritating when talk bubbles up at City Hall, as it did again recently, about introducing premium express-train service to O'Hare, which already is served by the Blue Line. "Transit has always been denied to our community." said John Paul Jones of the Developing Communities Project in Chicago ."But a new process is beginning that will make it much easier and safer for people to get to work, school and hospitals, and for businesspeople to develop commercial plans for housing and retail around new stations on the Red Line extension."Under the CTA's plans, four new stations would be built-at 103rd,111th,116th and 130th streets-mostly along the Union Pacific Rail-road right of way. Two options are under review for the location of the 130th Street terminus. Using federal seed money, the transit agency is starting work on a draft environmental impact study, which the Federal Transit Administration requires as part of the CTA ultimately receiving a federal full- funding grant agreement. If the project is fast-tracked, as supporters hope, construction on the estimated $1.4 billion extension could begin within the next several years and be completed as quickly as 2016, depending on the availability of money, CTA officials said. The projected cost, in inflation-adjusted dollars, includes relocating the existing CTA rail yard that is beyond 95th Street to vacant land in the area of 120th Street and Cottage Grove.

In my opinion that project is very good for many people who take the train.

NEW YORK The American hiker Sarah Shourd release from an Iranian prison, told reporters Sunday that doctor in Oman have assured her that she is "physically well." Reading from a prepared statement Shourd expressed thanks to Iranian government and religious leaders, including Ayatollah Ali khamenei and President Mahmuod Ahmadinejad, for release after 410 days. "It is my deepest hope that the world will not let this humanitarian gesture go unrecognized," Sarah said. "I believe this decision is a step in the right direction for all of us." However, she and the mothers of the other two detained Americans, Shane Bauer and Josh Fattal, called for their release. The two men remain in Tehran's Evin Prison. The three Americans were arrested in 2009 after they allegedly strayed across an unmarked border into Iran while hiking in Iraq's Kurdistan region.
The government said they broke the law but they were only hiking. I hope the Iranian's government release them from jail as soon as possible.

The Axe effect

Summary of the article:
David Axelrod, will leave the White House next year and return to Chicago to work on the president's re-election campaign. He is a top adviser to the President Obama and the main architect of his election vitory in 2008. He is one of  President's trusted aides. A longtime campaign strategist, he is aware of his limitation when it comes to comples policy matters.
In my opinion, David Axelrod leaves the White House for a reason not just because he wants to work on the president's re-election campaign maybe he wants to learn more about the election campaign. Later on the future maybe he does not have the opportunity to do this.

Pippen: Keep Noah

Newly minted Hall of farmer Scottie Pippen says the Bulls would be taking a huge gamble if they traded joaking Noah for Denver's Carmelo Anthony, as they reportedly are considering, and he doesn't think the Bulls general manager would approve the deal. Multiple reports say anthony is determined to leave Denver as a free agent after next season rather than sign an extension and would like to be traded , preferably to the Bulls or N.Y. Knicks . However, the Bulls are said to be unwilling to trade Noah, and the New Jersey Nets have emerged as the front-runner to land Anthony in a trade.

I think you have to say that Joaking Noah is one of the two top players in the Bulls teams that have great values and they bring a lot to the table.

Dieting? Try 3 square meals/Abinet

It`s already been established, Leidy said, that high-protein diets are better for appetite control. The diet men followed in her study "is not Atkins by any means," she added. " you`re still getting an adequate amount of fiber and fruits and vegetables with these diets". I think this is true because high-protein diets are open people appetites and make them eat to much. When you eat to much protein you should know u get a lot of weight. If people eat always some protein, fruit and vegetables good because they can control their weight and they can be healthy. I Don`t think this research concerning only men because women`s are in this situation.

Pops for champagne uncorks a cocktail lounge worth trying

Basement cocktail lounges have been catching everybody attention this year. Pops for Champagne recently
followed suit by changing downstairs jazz lounge into a" drinking parlor" named for the Great Lakes Watershed
and dedicated to drinks from region. Sometimes they go in groups stopping for after-work drinks, the people can watch
the cocktail-shaking action or retreat to one of three High-backed wooden booths in the corner. A carved wooden display
of the Great Lakes region that's lit up behind glass looks straight out of a museum, and bistro chairs feel un-parlor-like
Compared with the tufted leather benches and stately chairs lining the tables-height bar. The people who like serious places
and incredible drinks this is the place they can go.
